HYGIENIST CARE
We like to think that our hygienists will become your favourite dental professionals. They are gentle, empathetic, and are dedicated to helping you improve and maintain optimal dental health with their services.
Comprehensive Assessment
Do you have gum disease? How bad is it? You’ve been cleaning every day since your last visit, but is your dental health improving? Our hygienists can answer these questions for you. By gently probing your gums and taking measurements from 6 sites on each tooth, they identify problem areas that need extra attention.
Professional Cleaning
Plaque is instrumental in causing tooth decay while calculus causes gum disease. Plaque grows within hours and mineralises into calculus a day or two later. Keeping your teeth clean and free from these deposits is essential for your dental and overall health. As it is challenging to keep your teeth perfectly clean, we are here to give you that helping hand.
During your appointment, our hygienists will gently remove all the plaque and calculus (tartar) by scaling. Their specialised instruments, techniques and training means they can carefully get all those difficult areas clean, so your gums can recover and you can maintain them more easily at home.
EMS Airflow System
The EMS Airflow system is a non-contact, highly effective method for hygiene treatment. It utilises a precisely controlled stream of air, warm water, and ultra-fine powder to clean teeth and access hard-to-reach surfaces. This gentle technique removes biofilm (bacteria), stains, plaque, and early calculus from the teeth with minimal discomfort. It also helps reduce gum inflammation, particularly around dental implants, restorations (fillings, crowns, bridges), and orthodontic braces.
Why Choose Airflow & Who Can Benefit?
- Ideal for patients with gum recession, sensitive teeth, or dental anxiety.
- Particularly effective at removing stubborn stains, plaque, and biofilm.
- Perfect for dental implants and orthodontic braces. The system is specially designed to clean around braces, brackets, and implants without damaging or roughening the metal.
If you would like to experience the EMS Airflow system during your next appointment, please call us on 04 472 3510 to reserve a dedicated time slot, as Airflow availability is limited.
Tooth Whitening
We offer both ‘ in-surgery ’ and ‘take-home’ options for whitening teeth. After your professional clean, tooth whitening is a great way to make your smile look fantastic.
Ask your hygienist about our different whitening options and which may be suitable for you. Certain factors, including diet, can impact the effectiveness of whitening. Our hygienists are equipped with the knowledge needed to give you the best advice for the best results.
Education and Advice
The most important part of managing dental health is how you care for your mouth at home. Our hygienists will show you the areas that need extra attention, tweak your techniques, and recommend any products that will make the job easier for you.
